The painting contains a sand dollar that represents Christ and the story of hope and peace; the deer antler - spirituality and regeneration; the molinillo (Mexican chocolate whisker) - a tool dating back to the Aztecs; the Mexican mirror - reveals a person's destiny through divination (there is a reflection of the artist); the wall paper, a William Morris patter of marigolds - happiness, joy and good luck; the two depictions of wood copies by Hans Holbein - the Dans Macabre of the middle ages amid the Black Death; the patterned rug was woven by the artist, inspired by 19th c Navajo Chief rugs; and the underlying table cloth depicts the Hawaiian Islands, a nod to familial connections. Painted in oil with colorful brushwork, this painting is oil on canvas and measures 24 x 36", is 1 1/2" thick, unframed and was painted in 2020. Signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner.
